Marketing Your Business: Social Media 102 - ActiveRain

Are you making the most of ActiveRain for your business? It's not just a blogging platform. It is so much more than that. It is social networking to the max for those in the real estate industry. There are so many ways you can use ActiveRain to promote, expand, and support your business.

Blogging
Of course, one of the primary ways to utilize your ActiveRain membership is through blogging. You can set up a blog in a matter of moments and post as regularly as you choose. Blogging is a fantastic way to put and keep your name out there. Through consistent blogging, you can notify your prospects, current clients, and past clients about what is going on in your geographic area. You can also use blogging to keep your contacts and sphere of influence up-to-date about changes in the real estate industry, specific to your industry area (mortgages, staging, real estate, etc.). Blogging gives your contacts an opportunity to get to know you and your expertise before they ever pick up the phone. Show 'em what you've got to offer without using the "hard sell" approach.

Community Pages
Are you making use of the Communuty Pages when you post to your ActiveRain blog? If not, you are missing out on a huge opportunity to touch your target audience - those in your local geographic area. As you can see from my area of Garfield Heights, Ohio, utilizing Community Pages to promote your ActiveRain blog will put your name and information directly where your prospects are. You are already posting to your blog. Utilizing Community Pages is a way to make the most out of the time you spend blogging.

Referrals
Referrals are a great way to build your client base. Developing relationships is how you get people to trust you enough to do business with you. When people see your work ethic (translated = expertise through blogging) on top of your portrayal of how you deal with various business (and sometimes, personal) situation (translated - blogging), they become comfortable enough to refer others to you as well. Yet another way to use ActiveRain is through the referral option. You can not only set up opportunities where you can refer to someone else, but you can see what referral opportunities are available for you to take advantage of.

Social Networking
There are approximately 345,000 ActiveRain members at this point. Even if you only get a chance to network with 10% of the members, that is still 34,500
ActiveRain members. If you only network with 5% of the members, that is a whopping 17,250 ActiveRain members! Imagine the opportunity to network with 17,000 real estate professionals all in one place! We're talking about real estate agents, mortgage lenders and brokers, stagers, Virtual Assistants, appraisers, builders, inspectors, and title companies. Regardless of where your specialty lies within the real estate industry, there is someone you can network with who is in a position to collaborate, cross-promote, refer, advise, and discuss the wonderful world of real estate.

ActiveRain is a great place to learn, network, and promote yourself. If you aren't already a member, you should seriously consider joining. If you are a member, be sure you are making the most use of your membership.

If you need help maximizing your
ActiveRain membership, give me a holler. I'm happy to help!
