Craig, I am shocked to see the results for the phone, I thought I would be the minority using a Droid phone. Very interesting indeed!
Craig, thanks for putting together this survey, and getting us results so quickly! I'm surprised that only 13% are using Macs as their main system, but I have a bias towards Macs! Great job!

Hi Craig - Thanks for posting the results - they're interesting and about what I expected to see. I hope the response to the video question will help you get the video class moving again - I do need to get better.

Great recap, Craig and I voted on web browser. I actually use 3, but one is my primary one, so that's how I answered.

thanks Craig...always interesting and my we browser is Chrome...I love it.
Craig: The only big surprise to me was that only 56% have their own Wordpress site. I wonder if any counted the free .com version to skew the numbers a bit. At any rate, many are not harnessing as much power as they could be from their blogging by not having a WP site.

thanks everyone for coming back to check on the results
glad to see you all here :)
Well except for a couple, I fell into the majority. This was great! Thanks for doing it!

Craig thanks so much this was a great idea you had here, interesting information on people. BTW I am the Blackberry hold out. I have a Q10 and love it. I do not like virtual keyboards and have a Bluetooth keyboard for my IPad.
Fine work you are doing here.

Craig, thanks for the results! I'm surprised by the results for the phone choices as well. I honestly cannot make a "one" choice of browsers, I think IE, Chrome, and Safari all have their own advantages.

Craig Daniels That was very interesting.... I feel affirmed in my decisions now to be using what I am using.... I am kind happy to see that Win 8 is still not popular. I'm still using Win 7 Ultimate version and am quite happy with it even though I think the stability is still not as solid as XP was.... Just my two cents.....
I use Chrome. HOWEVER, I still go look at every blog and every change on my site in IE, because I follow my Google Analytics very carefully and find the largest sect of consumers take that computer home from walmart and start surfing on IE and never know anything different. So I check all changes, updates ect.. on IE to make sure they are displaying the way I want them to there as well.

Craig Daniels I am sure we will see some reversal with the release of iPhone 6! However I like Android!

Just found these results on Margaret Rone's post - very interesting, and some surprises. I am consistent with some findings, but a bit of a departure from others. XP holdout tile just recently, but I have not heard anything that made me want to jump to Windows 8 so 7 it was

I was really surprised by the phone results. I'm not fond of any Apple products, but I was still surprised.
Look forward to your new tutuorials based on the results!
Great survey Craig, I enjoyed the results.
Shocking that 3 percent are not sure what operating system that they use.
I thought that android tablets would have a stronger showing, most of them are better and much less expensive than the ipads.
I was forced into windows 8 a few weeks ago, clearly no planning when they designed this one, I wonder how many people got fired when Bill woke up and realized what they put out there with this one.

Thanks for the survey results. I was amazed to see more of us use Android than iPhones!
Love to see the results of our little group... so many surveys done, the slant is obvious and the opportunity wasted to glean what are the other native using, doing, trying, scoring high or low with. Thanks for the Eagle Scout above and beyond on this one Craig. We are not islands if we can tap in and (ding ding ding...) Survey says.........
Very interesting results Craig. I'm also very surpried at the results of the iphone v. the other phones. Shocking!
This is such a great post with lots of useful insights. I almost feel like its one of those post I need to bookmark and refer back to. There's some real jewels in there. A big number of agents have never done a video but when I track my personal web stats I find that as much as 40% of my views can come from mobile devices. There's a message there about having informative home videos attached to every listing. Can't wait for your next post.
Interesting results. I may have to look at the apps to see if there are some I may find useful.
You mentioned Windows 9, any idea when it will be released and any insight on the changes?
Great info, Craig! I was also surprised to see Android outpolling the iPhone, but I have a feeling that if you extended the survey for a while longer, iPhone would close the gap and maybe even take the lead, 75 votes is a pretty small survey sample.. Android does have some beautiful phones, though. That new S3 is pretty sharp!
Interesting. Thanks for tagging me in Craig. I enjoyed reading the results and answering the survey too. Do more! LOL.
Christine Yedo Johnson Windows 9 Developer preview is expected out in the next 30 days and we'll get our first real look at it. It should be released for sale hopefully by spring 2015 though there is no official word on that yet. Microsoft is trying to rethink a drop back to a start button for one thing. It will be a little more sophisticated than the old start button but not as dumb as the start button in windows 8. They are going to need to woo the enterprise back to doing the updgrade because many companies are sitting on windows 7 and didn't want to do 8.
Pat & Wayne Harriman iPhone v. Android - I have a feeling too that the gap may close but I'm not sure if we might actually have a 50-50 tie at the moment with a bigger sampling. I'm seeing lots of Samsung out there these days when in the past it was mosty Apple you would see. I have published a link to the dynamic results page as we are up to 80 responses and perhaps a few more will answer. We are still at Android 53% to Apple 41% so the lead is holding.
Here is the dynamic results page.
The Galaxy Note 4 looks nice for those liking a bigger phone. A new underdog and my personal favorite is the Moto X by Motorola. The second gen one is coming out now!

Awesome information, Craig. Surprised about the iPhone too. As a Mac user, now for 3 full years, I can't understand the popularity of Windows. ( Such an Apple snob here.) ;) My poor dad is 85 and bought a new PC with Windows 8 - I try to help him, but I don't get it either. He keeps asking me if there's a better option for him. ( He didn't like the Mac, either.)

Craig I'm glad I caught your post from Margaret Rome, Baltimore Maryland ! I am surprised by the android/iphone result. Not sure why, I guess I've had an iphone for so long at this point my mind didn't even thing andriod anymore.
Well Craig, the gap has actually widened a bit! I've seen many polls taken by realtors regarding what phone they use and if memory serves they all trended towards iPhones, and by a big margin. I'll bet if all 260k+ AR members answered thats what we'd see as well, but I know that ain't gonna happen!
I wonder how many will go out and buy the new Apple Watch when it comes out next year? I don't think I will, I haven't worn a watch in over 10 years (thanks to the ubiquitous iPhone!) so I'd feel very funny wearing one, kinda like Dick Tracy!
I use Firefox, and loved to see the results of this survey! Thanks so much, Craig!!!!
Craig- I was surprised by the iPhone/Droid percentage. I love this and you know we're all waiting for a tutorial on how you do these forms and questionnaires.
Craig, Results are very interesting and thanks for notice of publishing the results. I did vote on the Browser as I use Chrome virtually all the time. Firefox gets hijacked too many times in my opinion.
Thanks for putting this together and sharing the results. I'm a commited android user, no thanks to the iPhone. The reasons, I hear complaints from iPhone users and very rarely from android users, and the cost of the iPhone is a little high. There's more choice of product with the android.
Only one browser doesn't work ..... and neither does IE for that matter. Have some that require IE so guess that I am stuck with what I must have vs. what I feel is the better. Good work Craig. ![]()
Interesting results, I was in the majority for every category. Funny how we have PC with Windows, an Android phone but an iPad. I've had mine for years and it does exactly what I need it to.
Wow, great information to know. This will help us here in the AR HQ when troubleshooting and doing more releases in the future. ![]()
Wow, Craig. I am suprised too at the phone results. I'm with you. What is that other 3% OS? Very informative and interesting. Thanks.
Hi Craig, The results are really interesting. I am really in the minority as I am totally Apple based. And it is one minority that I am delighted being a part of.
Craig, Interesting survey results! I am not surprised by the totals but am impressed that Apple has a 40% marketshare as a single company and Android is made up of 4 key players and a few smaller ones combined. I would love to know if the survey was a Samsung or Apple how the stats would stack up then.
I am one of them that said I have an Android and may change to Apple. After speaking with some other folks I am hearing more and more that Verizon Service has recently gotten bad. I use to get great signal strength and never drop calls until this year. At the same time I purchased a new Samsung Note 3 and have been blaming it. I have been to Verizon 5 times in the past 6 months, Best Buy twice and talked with Samsumg twice. Still no better. Maybe it is Verizon and not the phone!

Tanks for the information, I'm not sure what it means to me, except that agents who are active here are more likely to be using the latest and greatest technology.

Interesting data. I like Android and I was also surprised that so many others use it also.
This is great information to have! Thanks for putting this together. I do use Windows 7, Android phone and full size iPad. Bookmarked to come back and study the other information when I'm not so pressed for time.
Great survey, wish I could have participated. I find it interesting that Apple wasn't the clear winner in a couple of areas. I am constantly at battle with 'apple freaks' & their kool aid. Most don't even use a tenth of what an Iphone has to offer but they 'have to have' that I6.
Very cool post Craig, I like seeing what the tech consensus is among rainers. I'll have to take a closer look at all those apps.
Very interesting results and simply indicates how we are doing compared to the rest of the survey's participants. Thanks for the information.
Hi Craig Daniels .....I was surprised at iPhone's not being #1 or Mac computers especially with no spam ware or virus's, don't miss these problems, they are such good tools for Business especially Real Estate and the apps are limitless.
Chrome has been my Browser of Choice, used to be Microsoft with my pc.
Interesting. I was a big Mac Guy for years. Then when I got into Real Estate I needed Windows at that time to use the MLS and other Real Estate stuff. Most of this stuff now works with the Mac, but for the price I am not going back. I am waiting for good dual use Lap Top/Pad. Some are out but I think right now you get the worst of both instead of good dual use. But it is coming.

What a neat post with excellent information. Thank you for taking the time to create all the questions, data and reporting the results. I remember contributing my 2cents so I can compare my answers to the totality of it all. Great post!
Hi Craig,
I just voted on your final questionaire. I did not see the original survey but my guesses would have been the majority; iPad, MacBook Pro, and iPhone. I love Apple products.

Very interesting info, the most valuable part is the list of apps. There are quite a few I haven't tried out yet.
Great survey , thanks for doing it. I must admit I am still holding on to my XP Pro. I am in the process of moving everything to Apple. I know that most of you tech guys love Windows for the versatility. However me computers, phones ect. are tools. I just want them to work and after having an iPad and iPhone for a while, and using a friends MacBook Pro for a week or so I am all in.
Craig, I am not surprised by the gap between Apple and Android because there are so many cheap Android alternatives. I had three brands of Android phones and before that a Palm Treo. All four were sent back for replacements. Androids lock up just like Windows computers. As I said in my previous comment these are tools and I just want them to work when I need them.
Thanks Craig, it's pretty interesting to see where I was overall within the survey results. Have a great day.
2020 survey anyone? I wonder if mac vs windows and the android vs. apple stats have shifted over these past few years?
Awesome! It sounds like a lot of people are on the same page with software! Obviously it's the battle between apple and android as usual! great survey btw.
