What's On Fire?
Where there is smoke, there is fire and this school has openly admitted to the heat as they "Blaze a path to the future". Hancock Elementary is better known as the Hancock Heat, an accelerated academy. The Arizona Educational Foundation has bestowed on Hancock Elementary an A+ School of Excellence Award! This school ranked better than 85.5% of elementary schools in Arizona and is located at 2425 South Pleasant Drive in Chandler. Home to 804 students PK-through 6th grade, they score a 9 out of 10 at Greatschools and rank 4 out of 5 stars at Schooldigger. The Rodel Foundation has given its "Rodel Aspiring Principal" award to Amanda Meier, the Principal at Hancock Elementary. This school enjoys a positive 4 star community rating "Hancock is definitely and A+ school for a variety of reasons. My child has some learning difficulties and the resource staff at the school is exceptional. We came to Hancock from a different school (out of state) and could not be more please with the resources available to help our child who has flourished at this school both academically and with self esteem. The communication with the school is excellent as well. Many parents complain about schools but don't realize that they have to put in the time and effort to communicate with the school/teachers as well and participate in their child's education . It has to be a team effort and when it is, the results are very rewarding for everyone. As for bullying, it is a reality at all schools unfortunately. However, I must say from my experience with a bullying issue at school involving my child, the teacher and principal jumped on it and reacted quickly, effectively and appropriately and the problem was dealt with to our satisfaction and my child's as well. From my experience, bullying is taken very seriously there. I am thrilled with Hancock and the education my child is getting. It is a wonderful school. —Submitted by a parent"

Arizona Department of Education gives letter grades to all schools based on an achievement formula calculated through annual testing. Schools are graded by the number of students who pass and the amount of educational progress made during the year. The Arizona Department of Education has issued Hancock Elementary an "A" letter grade. The variety of clubs at Hancock include kindness, garden, drumming, choir, tutoring, running and student council. This school utilizes " Character Counts" a nation-wide character educational program. Additionally, they provide the wonderful Art Masterpiece and Artist in Residence programs that children just love!

Before and After School Programs
Kids Express is a program for school-aged students between the grades of Kindergarten through Sixth grade. Available both before and after school to provide your child with enrichment opportunities including study time. Kids Express is located at 25 Chandler Elementary School sites on regularly calendared school days, and specific sites for intersession, holiday, and summer. The Kids Express staff engage students through high interest on-site and off-site experiences. The staff is licensed by the school district with background checks and finger printing.. They are DHS licensed facilities and DES approved and attend ongoing training with professional development. With a minimum of 13 center-based activities going on at all times, Kids Express becomes an extension of the classroom providing art, music, sports, drama, computers, creative play, science, active games and homework assistance.
