I've been taking advantage of this "parent page" idea, too - seems to work as I've got solid SEO in all of the areas I'm working on.  Hopefully as I work on the 'child' pages, the SEO juice gets even greater.  Thanks for sharing this informative post.

Great advice, Michael.  I think I've done some of this with my flooring pages...I have flooring/carpet/wool-carpeting or something like that.

I think in my blog pages some may have hardwood as one of the parents.  I need to check.

BTW, I have been getting over 30,000 unique visitors a month.

Michael George - you are so brilliant. I wish you lived next door to me. (Since you are brilliant AND a great chef.) I have always nested, but now will go back and look at permalinks. So, you're saying that if we CHANGE a permalink, we need to redirect the original permalink I think. Got it.

Michael- great post, great tips. Creating silos is the one of the top tasks you should do to all of your pages. I too, have been a proponant of this technique. Bruce Clay has a great white paper on setting up silos on new and existing sites. 

This is a most informative post.  I don't have the background to implement these suggestions so if you have any suggestions in that regard, I would like to know.

How will this impact blog posts to Trulia?  I've taken a few re-meshed blogs from to Trulia in the past few days to test the waters.  Should I not be doing that, or is it a good thing?

Sounds like trulia was doing it backwards. Compose urls like normal people would type in searches.
