Thankfully very few properties in my area are in the flood plain, but when FEMA remapped a few years ago it was a logistical nightmare for months on end.

Hi Debra, fortunately we don't have to worry about flooding here, even though we are on a lake. But  depending on location, flood insurance is one of those items homeowner's should seriously consider purchasing.
