National Drive Electric Week of September, 2014 in Sarasota Florida

Sarasota Florida has an Electric Vehicle Expo Celebration to acknowledge the National Drive Electric Week from September 15 – 21, 2014 along with Canada, Italy, Mexico, Netherlands and other states in our country USA.

All are welcome to join this free event, enjoy the delicious food from the vendors, lively music, watch, feel, ride, touch and test drive display and showcased electric cars.

September 20, 2014 National Drive Electric Event – Special Discount to Mote Aquarium

Admission tickets to Mote Aquarium for seniors 65 year and older are $9, tickets for adults are $10.00, tickets for children between 4 and 12 years old are $5. 3 year old and younger children have free admission.

National Drive Electric Week – History

National Drive Electric week was previously known as National Plug in Day; it was formed by Jeff U’Ren and Zan Dubin-Scott of Los Angeles. They invited Sierra Club and the Electric Auto Association to join the venture and promote the first event around 29 cities in USA in 2011.

Kwee, How exciting! I agree with Joan Cox that states with less harsh winters will probably be the leaders with electric cars. I am would love one, but I live in a rural area where traveling 6 hours before charging would be a requirement.

I had no idea when the electric car was invented!

Kwee, I've considered a new Hybrid recently mostly because it offers more horsepower than my current car...the good thing is I don't have to plug it in, but it still gets nearly 40 mpg. Price tag is a little steep at well over $50K!
