The Bridges On The River Huntsville AL Homes For Sale

And an abandoned railway

I recently read a post by Jennifer Fivelsdale; Speechless Sunday Abandoned Train Track that reminded me of a post I did in 2010 about an abandoned rail way. These abandoned supports for the old L & N Railway are not easy to find, but when you do you'll have found one of Huntsville's hidden gems.

The Bridges On The River

The Bridges On The River

What you most likely want to know about, however, are the homes for sale in The Bridges On The River which just happens to be along a path next to the abandoned L & N railway.

At the writing of this post there are 5 homes for sale in The Bridges On The River which is The Bridges On The Riverin Northeast Madison County, Huntsville Alabama. Home prices range from $245,900 to $399,900 and are on approximately half acre +/- lots. For accurate updated list of all available homes for sale follow this link; The Bridges On The River Homes For Sale

Away from the hustle of Madison and Huntsville (west of Capshaw Mountain), yet close to many of the things that Huntsville Alabama has to offer, this community is only about 15 minutes from downtown Huntsville just over Capshaw Mountain. Huntsville offers many fine restaurants, museums, Big Spring Park, the VBC for conventions, concerts and plays and a thriving business district. Another twenty minutes south will get you to the Tennessee River and Ditto Landing.  Also, within easy commuting to the Redstone Arsenal, Cummings Research Park and The Huntsville International Airport.

An important consideration for any buyer with children or resale is the school system their new home is in, The Bridges On The River is in the highly rated Mt. CarmelRiverton and Buckhorn school system.  Just go to www.greatschools.net to check them out.

Thanks for all the great comments. The Bridges On The River is a very nice community and I found those old rail road supports by accident. I decided to walk the neighborhood park area and found a path that led to the Flint River and saw them. You see so much more when you get out of the car and explore.

Nick, We have so many of these around Clarksville that were used when the L&N Railroad was thriving. Even the old railbeds are abandoned and offer interesting photo opportunities.

The abandoned railway does make for an interesting display.  A million years from now, they may be trying to figure out what they were.
