Lately, as I stroll through the rain, I run across people that have lost that loving feeling for ActiveRain. I visited one profile yesterday that had signed up 6 months ago and since then has written 3 blogs and made 8 comments and left. Rich, my business partner on The Thornton Team, had a person comment on one of his blogs that I thought was a great blog and the guy made a negative comment about the post. When Rich went to check the guy out, he found that the guy has been in the Rain for almost 2 years and puts out 3 to five blogs.
What is the point you ask? It is simple. A lot of people come into ActiveRain daily and they are all gung ho for getting started. A few of them push forward and become productive members in the Rain. A few of them struggle through and make it. Some of them struggle through and finally give up after a long stretch. And then there are those that are lost by the wayside. This can all be avoided if we embrace them all and let them know as they come through the door that there is a support staff amongst the community that is willing to reach out and help.
But, it does not stop there. I have also seen very productive people that have just gotten either burned out or frustrated and left the rain. Neither of these are good and the end result is not good for our community. I myself had gotten to a similar point in my blogging endeavors and did exactly what I told others not to do: overwhelm yourself with trying o do to much. So, in a nutshell and wrapping this up, I ran into this song again a few days ago and I could not get it out of my head. I knew why I ran across it, You never know how much of a difference that you can make until you step forward to make that difference. Make a difference in someone's life today. It is truly time for us to step up to the plate and help.
As always, the pictures are interactive and will take you away from the planet as you know it. The song is from another time long ago. Enjoy the song.
