Event on Saturday, Sept. 20th, 2014, "Saving Money: Energy Audits for a Greener Home"
How would you like to have a more comfortable home and reduce your monthly energy bills all at the the same time? Blake Waring, owner of Home Energy Remodeling, and I will be hosting a class at 1 - 2 PM on Saturday, Sept. 20th, 2014, at Ellwood Thompson's Community Room at 4 N. Thompson St, Richmond, VA 23221.
As an NAR Green designee through the Green REsource Council, I also have become more aware of various green resources and features that are available for homes to assist both Richmond VA area home buyers and sellers. By becoming more aware of what green washing (claims of being green without having substantial factual information to back it up) is and insisting on measurable results, such as EnergyStar ratings, we all can learn to become more energy efficient and also save money. Come join us on Saturday, and find out more!

Come join us for a chance to win a $50 gift card or a free home energy audit! Each $5 admission fee will benefit the Richmond Metropolitan Habitat for Humanity. After giving about five minutes of introductory remarks on green homes and some major energy efficient appliances, I will turn it over to Blake Waring, who will explain the process and benefits of having a home energy audit along with an interesting audio-visual presentation lasting about 35 to 40 minutes. There also will be a 10-minute Q & A session after the presentation. After answering questions, we finally will have the drawing for the two prizes!
Are you looking for ways to save money operating your Richmond VA home? Join us on Saturday, Sept. 20th, 2014, at the Ellwood Thompson's Community Room and learn more about being more green and saving more green by shrinking those high energy bills!
