Where Did The Time Go?   So Many Places

This last year and a half has flown by with many large projects, family and Real Estate, but it has been good for me with many life changes for our whole family.

My business life has been very busy and Real Estate has been good to me, my buyers and sellers like dreams to work with.  Every transaction had something new that I needed to learn, each one made me a better Realtor than before.

We transformed our home of 18 years into a more peaceful home than it already was by painting each and every room with colors that were inviting and comforting.  We laid down new tile flooring in the baths and laundry and new carpet in the master bedroom, living room and dining room.  New appliances in the kitchen and refreshed all of the hardwood flooring.

We worked hard on all of the garden areas with plantings, replacement trees for ones we lost due to a wind storm, redesigned the beds and then placed dark mulch on all of them.  I love pots with plantings and we placed them in the right places for the landscape.

Then we decided to sell, I even put a list price higher than I thought it might sell for and it sold in two days, right under the list price.  We began our hunt for a new house and the final home we would purchase in this lifetime.  We found a for sale by owner, perfect for us, and we purchased it and closed both houses at the same time.

We put all new flooring in the new house and then moved in,  a larger job than anticipated with 18 years of things, and the only piece of furniture we absolutely had to leave behind was our baby grand piano.  There was no room in the new house so we donated it to the Michael Allen Harrison's The Snowman foundation that provides musical instruments, instruction and  inspiration for kids that need help to develop their music. A worthwhile thing.

With all of this happening my husband retired which is an adjustment within itself, but a good one.  There are a lot of new projects (which includes writing and blogging once again) on the horizon, but I am spacing them out as I am busy in real estate which I am grateful for.  I am blessed in so many ways and thankful for all I have been given, I just cannot figure out................

Mary- I ask myself that all of the time. It looks like you have had a busy year so far.  How is your husband enjoying retirement?  More importantly, how are YOU enjoying his retirement?

Hi Kathy, yes very busy year and more.  My husband is enjoying his retirement with lots of fishing trips, golf games and the like.  He has been arranging his workshop and the garage and the new yard. That will take time for sure to bring it to the place we would like and we will not know until spring just how many bulbs there are.  The lady that owned the house was quite the gardener with lots of flowers.  It is a mystery now but will unfold in the Spring.  My husband is keeping busy keeping busy if that makes any sense and does like to venture into my realms such as the kitchen rearranging.  Yikes I just change it back if it does make sense to me.  Understanding is the key.  Thanks Kathy for reading and commenting.

Mary - It is amazing how much time and thought can go into home improvement projects.  I've experienced a lot of that too in the past 16 months or so.  I finally have caught a break, and it's wonderful to sit back a little and enjoy the fruits of those labors.

It is amazing Myrl and  I am glad you finally caught a break as well.  I am enjoying some quiet time and beginning a new painting.  Life is good.
