Most Important Home Staging Tip for Kitchens
When you put your Montgomery county PA home on the market, you want to make sure it's looking the best it can. I always show my clients ways to improve how their home looks with simple suggestions like adding a piece of furniture or rearranging the current layout. Kitchens tend to be the heart of the home. It's undoubtedly where people gather every time company comes over. And it's certainly a big deciding factor for buyers when it comes time to put in an offer. The most important home staging tip for kitchens I can provide is if you have the space, make it an eat in kitchen.
I've seen quite a few home owners that aren't utilizing seating space in their kitchens. Whether it's not fitting in an actual table or not placing bar stools at the counter, you wind up limiting the use of the kitchen. Buyers today want some type of seating in the kitchen for when they host parties or for causal breakfasts with kids in the mornings.
Just because your kitchen can't fit a regular sized table doesn't mean you can't fit any seating. Depending on the space, a small round or square table with 2 to 3 chairs will provide the ability to have seating during dinner or a place to do home work while mom & dad prepare dinner.
Tables also don't have to be open on all sides. Placing your kitchen table against a wall can allow you to fit a larger size table without obstructing the flow from room to room. In this picture below, that table that was placed in the living room fits perfectly in the kitchen against the left wall once that china hutch (on the far left) is removed and placed on a another wall. Without having a kitchen table there, it's too much unused, awkward space.
There are other issues in this kitchen that I won't get into for this blog, but the most important home staging tip for kitchens applies here. If you have the space, make it an eat in kitchen.
