The Macon County Heritage Center at the Historic Cowee School Present's
Buncombe Turnpike this Saturday Night September 20th, 2014. The bluegrass quintet Buncombe Turnpike plays a variety of tune ranging from traditional and com temporary bluegrass to gospel and hand-crafted original's.
A Little about the Band: It takes its name from the historic thoroughfare that ran through the mountains of western North Carolina from Greeneville, TN to Greenville, SC in the 1800s. Lead singer and bass player, Tom Godleski was born and raised in Asheville, and is also a writer, woodcarver, and storyteller. Joining Godleski is Evan Swink of Greensboro playing guitar, Joe Trimbach on madolin, John Duncan of Asheville plays fiddle, and Seth Rhinehart plays banjo.
