I recently had lunch at Pineda Crossing Bar and Grill. Now I have driven by Pineda Crossing Bar and Grill several times and thought about stopping in. Last week I got my chance. I went with two business associates for lunch. The Pineda Crossing Bar and Grill advertises itself as “The Home of the Casual Gourmet”. I would have to agree, good old fashioned comfort food with a more elegant twist is the only way that I can describe it. You walk into the Pineda Crossing Bar and Grill and it is casual. Not at all in a bad sort of way. On the contrary, the dining room is cozy, and the day we went in, the place was hopping! None-the-less we were quickly greeted by our pleasant waitress who promptly took our drink order and gave us menus.
Now, the chef at Pineda Crossing Bar and Grill isRand Morgan. Morgan is a graduate of the Culinary Institute of America (CIA) and the food at Pineda Crossing Bar and Grill shows it. Rand Morgan has several awards and accomplishments to his name including:
The Scheffline Award for Achievement in Hospitality Management
A Member of La Chaine De Rotisseurs
Taste of the Nation participant in 1995
Editor of the Western Rockies Culinarian News (Morgan lived in my home state of Colorado for a time)
Vice President of the Western Rockies A.C.F.
Morgan was a caterer for Prince Fahd, the Saudi Arabian Ambassador to the U.S
Even though there are two lunch specials daily, I decided on the shrimp salad wrap and I wasn’t at all disappointed. My lunch buddy had the Pineda Crossing and liked it so much, he had a second!
