How Do You Find the Best Cup of Joe in your area?
You may have noticed that I write a series of ActiveRain Posts called "Cup of Joe Reports" where I discuss my experiences in coffee shops around the DC Metropolitan Area. One of the reasons I write these reviews is because many of these small coffee shops are hard to find.
Now, I don't mean that they are hidden from view or within a crowded shopping center. I mean that many of them do not come up on my GPS when I am driving around and seeking a cup of joe. I recently had a situation where a client looked up coffee shops on her Tom Tom and I looked up coffee shops on my Garmin and the only options were Starbucks and Dunkin Donuts. This actually happens all the time.
I'm not saying there is anything wrong with either of these two places. They are consistent. If you like Starbucks coffee in one place, you will like it everywhere. Same goes for Dunkin Donuts. But I suspect you will not be wowed by your coffee, service, experience or atmosphere at either of these chains.
So how do you find a really good cup of coffee?
That is my quest - to be your local source of the best coffee shops in the DC Metropolitan area.

Good question. If there's a place you'd like me to review, let me know. I'll go and check it out and report back as a Cup of Joe Report.
