Rain, iOS8, and iPhone 6

It was a rainy day in Georgia.

A client canceled today and rescheduled because of the thunderstorms we had moving through. So finally I had time to get through the huge pile of emails that were in my inbox after a few days of just scanning for crisis emails on my phone.   Took me to mid afternoon to get through them.  

Of course there were interruptions.  As the broker I have agents reaching out to me all day.  Why isn't my lockbox activity sending emails? Help me write copy for this new listing?  I have to be out of town can you cover my inspection?   Any other business owner can understand, right?

Then there was the matter of my daughter calling me and texting me to "meet at Verizon" because if there is a new and shiny, the girl has to have it.  So after work I headed down to the store and held the new phones in my hand.  I am a hands on kind of girl and couldn't decide between the 6 and 6 plus until I tried to hold that plus in my hand.  Nope, not gonna happen.  I might as well talk on my iPad.  I could have walked out of the store with a phone, but not the color I wanted, so I ordered it.  I did walk out of the store with a new iPhone for my mom. Tomorrow we'll activate it and begin teaching her how to use it.

Stopped for Japanese takeout and headed home.  Thought it was time to relax and have dinner then the phone call from my daughter that the minute we walked out of the store our texting had stopped working.  30 minutes on hold with Verizon and that's fixed.  Yeah, when we signed up for the new plan and added my mom's smart phone to the plan they blocked our text ability.  We could iMessage, but not text non apple products.  Got that fixed.  Finished dinner.  

Finally it was time.  I'd been away when the release of iOS8 happened and I was afraid to try and download it when I was away from my computer and a back up phone. But iPhone and iPad are both updated without a hitch.  I needed this rainy day/night in Georgia to get some things done, because tomorrow I have a home inspection, a buyer appointment and a listing appointment.

Hi Tammy, I downloaded the iOS8 today on the phone and it all went well. I did the same for the iPad and it has been rendered almost useless. Not much works and most apps go to a black screen and then eventually back to the home page about 1/2 as fast as before I upgraded to the iOS8. Now I need to go into the Genius Bar and reverse the ooperating system. Otherwise it works great on the iPhone.

My day was fun yesterday!  I golfed with a bunch of other obnoxious Realtors and lenders at the country club.  We sure did hack it up!

Well, that sounded very familiar to many of us !!! There really is no down time even if you considered the rain .. it was "rearrange time" or "catch up time " >>> I tend to leave my Monday mornings clear for the typical pile up that occurs no matter how much I plan for it !

When I lived in Ga, my email address was rainynightinGA. I upgraded both my 5S and my iPad Air. It was very fast on the pad, slower on the phone. I don't think I'm changing to the 6; at least not yet.

William Johnson My daughter didn't do it on her iPad2, but did on the new iPad Air and it worked great

Tammy Lankford - Thank you for keeping the rain down your way.  While we had some overnight on Sunday, by Monday am it was bright and sunny here.  Which is good because we were way overbooked!!  Took a second look and wrote an offer with one buyer, another buyer client in town a few days early and wanting to get a head start on their search, floor time in the afternoon, a doctor's appointment and then a 5:30pm listing appointment.  Thank heaven there's two of us!!

I am so tempted to upgrade to the 6. After we get settled it will happen probably next month sometime. I still haven't added the new IOS but will do that when our wireless gets up and running.
