More Fall Gardening Tips for Northern Gardeners!
Moving plants
This is a great time to plant your newly purchased perennials, trees, and shrubs. Make sure to provide adequate water through the fall. After the ground starts to freeze, add a 6 – 8 inch layer of mulch around your new plants.
This is also the time to plant spring flowering bulbs.
You could also take advantage of the cooler weather to plant radishes, leaf lettuce, cilantro, spinach, and arugula.

You can move peonies now with some divisions. We have several that survived the flood in the back yard and with some help of mulch and compost should thrive in their new homes.
