Your Kid Can Be A Hero!
Every kid dreams about heroes and truth be told, so do some adults!  Who doesn't want to be a hero with the cape and the special powers, I know I do.  If your kid runs through the house with a scarf tied around his neck ( so it can flap in the wind) dressed only in underwear, you need to listen up.  There is a place in Chandler Arizona where every kid is a hero.  It all started in the year 2001 and involved someone who held the highest office in the state of Arizona, namely Governor Jane D. Hull.  Governor Hull, always an advocate of education,  passed the Student's First School Facilities Funding program, and under her leadership  and with a contract from Qwest Communications Arizona became one of the first states to ensure all public schools had Internet access.  Sounds like Governor Hull was a hero to the children of Arizona and that is why the Jane D. Hull Elementary school was named in her honor.

I Love Hull Hero's!
Hull Elementary School is home to 907 students PK through 6th grade and is located at 2424 East Maren Drive.  Within the Chandler Unified School District, this school is #16 and ranked better than 64% of elementary schools in Arizona.  Hull Elementary scored a 9 out of 10 at Greatschools and 3 out of 5 stars at Schooldigger.  This school enjoys a 4 star online community rating and scores great reviews like this " I love Jane D Hull! They are very informative and keep everyone up to date. They are truly there for the kids. They have that family atmosphere and want families to become involved, not only with their kids but all that is being done at the school. They are big on volunteering your time and are very helpful. There is alot to do with the kids and in the classrooms. They are always open to suggestions and seem to have a well-rounded group of people on the PTO. This is a very positive and encouraging campus. My oldest went through there and has made friends which he has kept now through middle school. My younger 2 are still there and have many, many friends and know that they can turn to their teachers for anything. I really like how they approach and teach "bullying". My kids are aware and have learned so much from that. They know the difference and will stand up with their friends. It just brings out the character in them. I have seen them mature and grow into well-versed kids. It's awesome! —Submitted by a parent"  Another pleased parent writes " I have two children that attend Hull. We absolutely love this school, the staff is exceptional and I believe go out of their way to make you feel welcomed. I am amazed that the front office staff seems to know everyone by name that comes through the front door. Each of the teachers that my children have been fortunate to have are excellent communicators, and truly care about the children. We chose this school, and my children had been attending on a open enrollment basis. I see the atmosphere as very positive and enthusiastic. I am proud to be associated with this school and the staff.

A+ School Of Excellence
Hull Elementary School has received the prestigious A+ School of Excellence Award from the Arizona Educational Foundation.   Schools must submit applications that contain demographic information, details of all current programs and practices, documented parent and community participation, and a profile of the school's leadership goals.  Each school is required to demonstrate sustained high achievement or significant improvement that is measured through assessment data.  Winning schools are awarded for their superior ability to see and meet the academic and non-academic needs of their student body population.  Schools retain their A+ status for 3 years and then must re-apply and qualify again.

The judging panel consists of award-winning principals, community leaders and teachers.  Panel members visit selected schools all throughout the state during the selection process.   For individual schools this program helps to  facilitate communication and implementing of best successful practices among schools and makes that information available in a comprehensive framework of key criteria for school effectiveness.  This award is beneficial to the public because it identifies which schools are achieving a high rate of successful practices and programs withing their student population.

Art Masterpiece is Here!
Chandler Unified School District offers a national art enrichment program called Art Masterpiece.  Every month, students have an opportunity to create their own “masterpiece” after they receive a lesson about a master artist.  These lessons include a PowerPoint presentation that showcase biographical information about the artist along with samples of their masterworks.   The students try and implement that artist’s particular style and technique as they create their own masterpieces.  Hull Elementary also has a very popular after school club called "Battle of the Books".  This club is sponsored by Chandler Schools, Chandler Public Library and is open to 5th and 6th grade students.  Student are formed into teams of 1 to 3 students and participate 3 times per year in competition.  Team members will read 4 books for each competition and then must answer questions on the assigned books as a team.  Teams with the highest score have the chance to compete with other schools within the Chandler district.

Leadership, Service and Technology Savvy!
Hull Elementary offers plenty of leadership opportunities for students through their Student Council.  Once a month Student Council participants meet together and listen to suggestions from classroom representatives.  They also help plan, organize and carry-out school wide service projects.  To date, their projects have included the Arizona StandDown supply drive for homeless veterans, Chandler Care Center Food Drive, Rotary Polio Fundraiser, United Way Food Drive and the Big Guy Turkey Drive.  Their motto is to "give service and make Hull Elementary a better place".

Students at Hull receive a challenging education that includes P.E., Music, library and technology instruction.  Every classroom is furnished with computers, and LCD projector, Easiteach Slate and document camera.  The Mission Statement for this school says "At Hull, we strive to create a caring community that values diversity, fosters character development and provides a nurturing and safe environment. Teachers work collaboratively, and are competent, effective and committed to professional growth.  Students are held to the highest academic standards, and are engaged in meaningful and challenging curriculum."
