I imagine myself as a squirrel, collecting my food as the Cold season comes upon me. It's no doubt that it is slower but I have many things to accomplish during my "slower" season.
"Slower" these days are defined quite differently. It meant we still have a steady stream of clients to work with, but it is definitely in a more managable pace - unlike in the Spring and Summer. I'm grateful for this season as I collect my thoughts and put things I want to do in action:
-
Business planning and evaluation
This comes around September and October timeframe when I have a huge part of my year to review. Yet I still have a few good months to make a different in the year.
This is also the time I decide what I didn't accomplish, and what I should do better in Marketing and finances.
I have a calendar of the entire year's marketing plan figured out by November. -
Newsletters and communication
Because it is a slower time for me, I can get on with more Fall/ Winter communication with my clients. I keep them informed about the housing market that has been. Everyone is always curious how the market is doing. You might never know when you peak someone's interests about selling in the Spring. -
Parties and celebrations
We host an annual Christmas party on the Saturday after Thanksgiving. Santa and Mrs. Santa are the guests of honor. We intentionally make it early so our clients are able to use the Santa photos as Christmas greeting cards, if needed. We also like and want to get it out of the way.
We fill our house with lots of clients. This year, we have to break them into two. The children get to spend quality time with Santa. Santa reads a Christmas story.

Winter doesnt end until March 29
Officially Winter starts in December 21 through March 29. It's a perfect time that I hit the ground running on January 2nd.
The plan is to venture into Facebook target Ads. I'm cooking a good brew for my 1Q and 2Q pipeline and cant wait for Christmas and holidays to be over.
Yes, I know - we haven't even entered the holiday celebrations yet but I move and think fast!
