Golf Course Communities and Cattle Drives

Cattle Drive Red Feather Lakes CO

I’ll bet you didn’t run into a cattle drive to make your tee time today!?

The Open House Extravaganza at Fox Acres is this weekend, as well as a golf tournament.  When I saw the cattle coming down the road this morning, I couldn’t help but think “only in Red Feather Lakes, CO would you encounter a cattle drive on your way to play golf”!  It could happen elsewhere-  but, I don’t know.

I saw the cutest little wrangler, he couldn’t have been more than 7 or 8 years old, helping with the cattle drive this morning.  He looked very handsome in his cowboy hat on horseback and very serious about keeping those cows in line too.

It’s time for the cows to leave their high pastures in Red Feather for lower pastures in Livermore, and if you didn’t make to the Fox Acres Open House Event today, there is still time for you to attend tomorrow.

Open House Event September 27th and 28th  2014

11:00 a.m.- 3:00p.m.

Over 25 homes are being held Open in the beautiful mountain golf course community.

Security Entrance:  3350 Fox Acres Dr. East -  Red Feather Lakes, CO  80545

Hi ,Mary...It happens here, too. Cattle and sheep. These livestock drives are the only traffic jams we have...so I'm not complaining. Good luck with your open house.

Hope your open house was successful. I wouldn't mind running into a few cows around here.

Hi Debbie, it's the only traffic jam here too and today, the cows were even on "the right side" of the road - so not much of a traffic jam at all.  I love the cattle drives. Thanks Debbie!

Hi Ron, we still have one more day to go to gauge the overall success of the open house event- so fingers are crossed !  thank you for stopping in tonight, I appreciate it.

LOL-  Lots of Livestock!

Mary, I hope this has been a good weekend for the Fox Acres open houses and that there are still ready and able buyers as the temps get cooler up around RFL!

Have a great new week, Mary!

Thanks Roy, I hope you have a wonderful autumn too!

Hi William, thank you, I appreciate that :-)

Thanks for the endorsement Gita!  The Open House Event went better than expected, but it was a long 2 days.  Four hours each day! I hope you have a great week too.

Lots of Livestock Bruce!  Another group of cows were coming down on Sunday and created quite a backup- as many campers and weekenders were coming down that same day.  The fall season is traditionally pretty strong, so hopefully we will still see more buyers this year! Thanks Bruce!

Thanks Dorie, I  hope so too- 4 hours is too lon for an open house, but because there were so many homes open we stayed open longer!!

That would definitely be a no for me in Florida although I have ran into a "snowbird" or two driving about the same speed with their turn signal on...forever!!

HI Mary - that would be so amazing to see a cattle drive, and the young wrangler sounds adorable, and look at the confidence he is learning with this..

Mary, had to laugh thinking there would be a traffic jam because of the cattle drive.    Only in Red Feathers Lake!
