And We are heading on to the Next Milestone
Over the weekend I reached the milestone that I had been shooting for quite a while.
And again, I can't tell you how much I have enjoyed meeting so many rainy friends along the way, and all of the support that helped to bring me to this milestone, and made getting here so much fun.
I could have finished the race on Saturday, but I was feeling a little mentally exhausted with lots of pressures in both businesses, so I did the minimum. (The minimum with 2 community event posts, 10 reblogs, and about 25 blogs read and commented on.)
Yet I still had 7 posts yet to write for the week so if I had had the energy I could have met my goal on Saturday.
For those friends who voted for Saturday, I am sorry that I wimped out.
Sunday I was still feeling a bit overwhelmed, but as we all know, either we get the quota done on Sunday or we lose those potential opportunities for points and Google juice for the week.
So thanks to the encouragement of many in the rain and some more reblogs, likes and comments, I pushed through and wrote some more posts, three thank you posts for those responsible for getting me through this first 2.5 years as a blogger and 3 snippets from a few WRA workshops.
At the time that I reached my milestone I was feeling more like a rest from blogging than like partying.
But today is another day, and a Monday as well, Yippee!
Something about a Monday to reinvigorate and get you think about accomplishing something. Maybe it is the rest from Sunday, maybe it is all the activity of the world being back to work, whatever the reason, Mondays are always a good day for the achievers of this world.
So today is a good day to think about and plan where I will go next with Active Rain and my blogging venture.
Though it was painful for many, I think that AR's recommendation that we post 20 blog posts per week was a good thing.
It allows us the opportunity and incentive to explore new areas and types of posts that we probably would not have posted otherwise.
For me that includes opportunities like;
* Forestry Education
* Forestry investment advice
* Buying and selling forest land
* Rental tips
* Rental war stories
* Forestry adventure stories
* Project snippets
* Cool pictures, along with a little background and reminder of how great good forest management is.
* Community event posts with a little something extra like photos and videos.
The public really likes these and so does Google.
Though most of the calls that I get on these are not potential clients, at least the phone is ringing and Google is noticing my blog.
* Reincarnating a few posts from the past that were either good, important, or just did not get the exposure that they should have.
* Posting info on great wooded properties for sale
Opportunity for friends to sell properties, and for our future clients to find the forest land property of their dreams.
* Posting of info on some of my properties, those for sale and those for rent.
* An occasional Rant
* And other various thoughts on the world, work and more.
Well friends I am back for another Million, I have a lot of stuff to write about, though I am not the best writer, it is a lot of fun getting it out there and visiting with all of the great people in the rain is priceless too!
