February Winter Storm System in Indiana

If you're in Indiana today, you know that the big news story is our winter storm moving through.  This is a picture taken on my street just a few moments ago. 

I live in the central part of Indiana and we've received about 5 inches which is now mixed with sleet and freezing rain.  The wind is blowing the snow around quite a bit and making open areas hard to keep clear of the white stuff.  Intil last month, the weather for this winter had been fairly mild.  I never complain because I'm not that fond of snow and cold. 

It will be a difficult drive home for those that reported to work today.  While I understand the road crews have been working non-stop to keep the roads as clear as possible it's still a slick ride home. 

I'm not sure how long before Spring will make its way into Indiana but I'm sure many of us will be ready when it does get here!  

I will say the snow does look pretty, from inside my warm home. 

If you have to be out in this, please be safe!  A big thanks to all the folks that have a job that requires them to go to work inspite of the weather.
