Dog Owners and visitors in Volusia County FL are always looking for parks that welcome their dogs.  Here in Volusia County there are many parks where you can take your dog for an afternoon of "off leash" fun.



Manatee Island Dog Park - Daytona Beach

One acre dog park on Manatee Island near downtown Daytona Beach.  Offers

separate areas for large and small dogs.  Tree shaded area with benches,

restrooms, water, and clean-up bags.


Halifax Humane Society Dog Park - Brand New and Now Open to the Public 

Free of Charge - Hours 10:00AM to 6PM - This is a community park, funded with the help of a $400,000 Volusia County ECHO grant, and features 3 acres of land dedicated to the community animals of Volusia County.  Includes agility courses, fenced and shaded area, trails, and water stations.  There are separate areas for small and large dogs both on and off leash.  


Riviera Dog Park, Holly Hill

Benches, clean up bags, small and large dog areas, drinking water area

Michael Crotty Bicentennial Park, Ormond Beach

Volusia County operated 4 acre dog park at Bicentennial Park.  The dog park includes

separate areasfor large and small dog, watering stations, benches, and shade trees.

Smyrna Dunes Park - Pet Friendly Beach

2295 North Peninsula Drive, New Smyrna Beach Open sunrise to sunset


New Smyrna Beach's Dog Park

2641 Page Avenue, New Smyrna Beach - 1 acre fenced area divided into large

and small dog  play areas.  The grounds are grassed with open areas with

concrete structures for doggy play.


Happy Trails Dog Park - Ponce Inlet 

Located in Ponce Inlet - The Park is open 7 days a week from 6:00 AM until 9:00 PM

There are separate large and dog areas for provided for off-leash time

All dogs must show proof of current vaccinations and must abide by the posted rules


Port Orange City Center - Dog Friendly

The City Center at Port Orange is dog friendly - bring your own bags for pet



Barkley Square Dog Park - Deland

Open daily sunrise to sunset - Admission is Free - Barkley Square Dog Park

encompasses more than 14 acres and provides areas for large dogs, small dogs,

training events, and time-out spaces.  The parkis situated on a parcel of land

with many trees and even a small pond. Parking is plentiful and amenities

include a modern restroom, benches, dog watering stations, and vinyl fencing. 


Gemini Springs Dog Park  - DeBary

The Gemini Springs Dog Park is a 4.5 acre fenced area of Gemini Springs Park

with two sections.  One for small dogs 25 pounds and under, and another for

large dogs over 25 pounds.  The park includes shaded areas, dog wash stations,

water fountains for dogs, benches and picnic tables.  

Puppies must be at least 4 months old.  Dogs must wear a collar with current

rabies and ID tags.  Handlers must carry a leash at all times. Handlers must

clean up immediately after their dogs.  


*Dogs are allowed at all other Volusia County Parks, but they must be leashed at all times.  

* Please follow the rules for the parks - all dogs must have current rabies and ID tags.  Handlers must carry a leash at all times and keep their pets under control.

Hi, Joyce...this is great local information. I think it's great there are so many places that dogs can run and have fun. I'm a big animal lover. In my area of Colorado...we have a few dog parks, but really we also have so much National Forest where our dogs can run, too. So I don't think about this as much as someone in a larger metro area. I'm glad there are options for dogs and their owners where it isn't so rural.
