Heritage High School has been serving students living in homes in Leesburg, VA since 2002. Heritage High School is part of the Heritage cluster, falling within the Loudoun County Public Schools (LCPS) district. The LCPS system is the fastest growing public school district in Virginia due to the rapid growth that Loudoun County has experienced over the recent years. The mission at Heritage High School is for teachers and educators to give students a school environment that encourages learning, focuses on mastering academics and promotes individual achievement.

Loudoun County high schools offer students several different diploma options including: Advanced Studies Diploma, Standard Diploma, Modified Standard Diploma, Standard Technical Diploma and Advanced Technical Diploma.
In addition to providing academic services to students in grades 9 through 12, LCPS have set up programs to help ensure that all students within the county have the ability to find academic success. One such program offered is Career and Technical Education. The purpose of this program is to help students explore career options by getting "hands-on" learning in a specific career field. Heritage High School offers Career and Technical Education in the following career fields: Family and Consumer Sciences, Business and Technology Education. Students take vocational courses in these areas to develop specific skills and are prepared for employment after the completion of high school, or for continued study at the college level. Courses in other areas are also offered at the nearby C.S. Monroe Technology Center.
Heritage High School also offers an English Language Learning Program (ELL) to students whose English skills require additional reinforcement.
The school mascot, the Pride, in the shape of a lion, is proudly displayed throughout the school and on school uniforms along with the school colors of red and black.
Heritage High School students strive for excellence in academics, artistic fields and athletics. Heritage offers a wide variety of Advanced Placement courses in preparation for future college study. Educators at Heritage know the importance of providing a learning environment that has a strong technology emphasis. The LCPS district has implemented an Instructional Technology program across all schools. This program gives teachers the training they will need to be able to implement technology into their teaching, and it increases the technology that is used in the classroom.
Another program that helps Heritage High School students excel academically is the Loudoun Academy of Science program. The Loudoun Academy of Science is a part-time alternative high school in Sterling that offers qualified gifted students classes in advanced math and science.
Heritage High School has a full Performing Arts department, giving students the opportunity to participate in Band, Choral and Orchestral programs, as well as a Drama program. The Symphonic Band has had a successful history; members were recently invited to play at the Sydney Opera House in Australia.
The athletic department at Heritage High School offers students the chance to take part in many different sports. Heritage is a member of the AA Dulles District and Region II. The school's basketball team has been a strong competitor, winning back-to-back Dulles District Championships. Both the boys and girls Track teams have also won Dulles District Championships and the Lacrosse team continues to be successful as well.
