I love Arizona in the summer... we don't have daylight savings time, so I can't speak for the rest of you around the country. But as the weather warms up the days get longer. Today the sun rose at 6:15am... there is something fantastic about the start of a new day.
My first question that goes through my head is always "How Much Can I Accomplish Today?" That list is my benchmark and my reason for jumping out of bed right away. My day starts with a cup of coffee and email, it is amazing how many emails can come through in the 6 hours its been since I last checked my email. Shower get dressed and off to the office. My wife and I like to be the first ones in the office. As owners of the company we feel it sets a good example for our agents and employees to see us here before them.
The great thing about our long days, is that I can accomplish so much more. We worked all day, following up with pending contracts, making sure all of our escrows were on track, scheduled meetings for the rest of the week, etc. The sun set at 6:49pm today. Once the sun sets its time to work on all the non-client related parts of our business. This is the time I feel I can accomplish the most. My wife in her office and me in mine, we chug away with only the clicking of the keyboards to remind us the other is still there.
It is currently 10:41pm we are both still at the office, and I probably have about another hour of work before I start to think of going home. Some would think that we are crazy, or possibly we will soon burnout. But we love this. Well I am off to work for a while longer before heading home to relax. There is plenty of more work to get done and the sun rises at 6:14am tomorrow... one minute earlier than yesterday, and its going to be here in a little over 7 and half hours. The good news is that tomorrow the sun sets at 6:51pm so my day gets to be 2 minutes longer!
