There can only be one all-time greatest - Last night I had the pleasure of going to see Robert Plant
at The Fillmore Auditorium in Denver. I have been a lifelong fan of Led Zeppelin and now that my youngest son is a very talented musician with classic rock and roll taste, he thought it would be incredible to see one of the icons in the industry.
Robert Plant did not disappoint, playing with his band "The Sensational Space Shifters" he performed several of his former bands classic hits and he sounded every bit as good now as he did 40 years ago. The newer music was also very good and I do not know why I expected any different. I am definitely biased when it comes to Led Zeppelin and Robert Plant, but even if you were not a fan, it is
hard to argue that they were not the greatest rock and roll band of all time.
As I was watching the show I noticed the other band members, they were very talented indeed, but you could see the awe and the joy they had playing alongside this legend, it almost felt like they were enjoying his performance as much as the audience, and then when they played their solos, Robert Plant was enjoying them every bit as much as they enjoyed watching him.
This got me to thinking about people that are at the top of their industry, every single one of them absolutely loves everything about what they do, they love to encourage and be around other greats, they all get charged from one another and help one another to be their best, they are not afraid to share what they know and they can really and truly appreciate the greatness in others.
If you dare to be great, learn from other great people, hang with those that you wish to emulate, learn from them, most will be an open book and welcome you, if you truly have a passion to be great.
