3 Ways to Add More Hope to Your Day

Education & Training with Referral Maker Real Estate CRM

We’ve all faced challenges in our lives that shape our perspectives and create our unique story. While some of these challenges are easily overcome, others are painful, unexpected and feel in the moment as if they’re insurmountable. It’s normal to feel overwhelmed when the gravity of the unexpected weighs you down; however, in order to rise above and thrive it’s important to have hope.

Hope is the voice that says what’s possible. Hope whispers, “You can do it!” when you need encouragement the most. And, most importantly, hope is what drives you when it’s oh so easy just to give up. Here are a few ways to add more hope to your day.

Adopt hopeful habits:

Take action. When the chips are down, it’s easy to wallow. However, taking action can help you regain control of your thoughts and move forward.

Get inspired. Seek out books, movies, places and people that renew your spirit and motivate you to thrive.

Be grateful. Gratitude is a powerful tool that helps you to maintain perspective and appreciate what you have. Take stock in your blessings every day by writing down three things you’re grateful for in your life. If you need help to get in the habit, incorporate it into your to-do list on Referral Maker® real estate CRM. Referral Maker will remind you of this task each day, along with your regular lead generation activities.

Create thinking space:

Meditate. An unfortunate consequence of our go-go-go culture is that we’ve become afraid of silence. Take two minutes and just sit in silence—no music, no emails, no chatting with people around you. Just sit and focus on your breath.

Focus on what matters. What’s important to you? What’s your ‘why’? Answering these questions will help you to cut through the noise and concentration on and appreciate what’s really important.

Savor the moments. It’s easy to get so caught up in the hustle and bustle of daily life that we forget to stop, observe and appreciate all that’s around us. It’s like the great philosopher Ferris Bueller said “Life moves pretty fast. If you don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.”

Embrace a change of heart:

Shift your perspective. There are a million ways to view a challenge. Although you may feel one way now, over time your perspective may change. Accept your changes in perspective—they’re essential for growth.

Be open. While you can’t control the outcomes of situations, you can control the way you react to them. Things may not always work out exactly as planned; however, if you’re open to the possibilities, you’re better equipped to make the outcome work for you.

Take a chance. When you take a chance, you embrace the fear of the unknown and trust that things will work out well. Taking a chance is an expression of hope.

Laura,  thank you for this.  I so needed this today.  I said good bye to one of my best friends today and I'm trying to see the silver lining in all of this.  Even with positive's and bright parts to my day it's hard.  Then I read your post and it spoke to me.
