Fun Fall Activities to Do In the West Metro

It’s time to get outdoors and enjoy the last few warm weekends before the arctic tundra hits. Here are some great fun fall activities to check out!

Minnetonka Orchards: 6530 County Road 26, Minnetrista 55364

What is it? A family owned and operated apple orchard that is opened daily from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. with free parking. You are able to pick your own apples or purchase from the retail barn. In the retail barn, you will also find deliciouImage:CBSlocal.orgs treats like jams, salsas, apple pies, pre-made mixes, cider and yummy doughnuts.

On the weekends, it’s $7.00 a person (3 years and under are free). Admission includes hay rides, petting barn, a corn maze, kid’s playground, nature trail, fern forest and face painting. You are also able to purchase food on the weekends from 11:30 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. (Note: they do not allow outside food to be brought into the orchard) with selections like cheeseburgers, cider brats and gourmet caramel apples. 

Sever’s Corn Maze and Fall Festival: 1100 Canterbury Rd, Shakopee 55379

What is it? A corn maze and pumpkin patch that is opened Friday-Sunday, September 12-October 26th. Hours are as follow: Friday: 1pmwww.severscornmaze.com-8pm, Saturday: 10am-8pm, Sunday: 10am-6pm. Pricing is $13 per person (age 3 & under is free)

Admission includes: extreme corn pit, canary tent, magic shows, wildlife shows, exotic animal petting zoo, straw bale maze, live music, corn maze and playgrounds. For additional cost, you can play Sever’s arcade, ride on a pony or camel, go down the giant slide or relax on a hay ride. You are able to purchase food such as hotdogs, cheese quesadillas, and chicken sandwiches. Additionally, you can also enjoy special treats such as cheese curds, mini doughnuts, caramel apples and kettle corn. 

 

Scarecrows in the Garden- Minnesota Landscape Arboretum 3675 Arboretum Dr. Chaska 55318

What is it? More than 1,100 acres of trees and gardens. Open 363 days a year (closed Thanksgiving & Christmas) open from 8am-8pm.

Admission is $12 per adult (children 12 and under are free) For children, the Arboretum specializes in getting kids involved in “hands on” activities that explore the world of flowers, leaves and stems while playing in the Green Play Yard. Scarecrows in the garden will be running daily, September 14th through October 26th. Count how many you can find and pick your favorite!
