When a Buyer leaves your home what should they remember ... you or the features of the house?
As a Stager, I deal with this frequently. Clients are in Living Mode and need to shift into Selling Mode.
The Buyer's focus should be on the features of the home not on the Seller's lifestyle. This is why we depersonalize in Staging.
They should remember the kitchen counters and back splash not the strong spice odor.
Buyers should remember the fireplace mantle in the Great Room not the African sculptures.
They should remember the great en suite bath not your religion.
The spacious rooms should come to mind not your love of strong colors.
When the Buyer sees your child's room they should think of how their child will enjoy it not how cute your kids are in the photos.
Keep the Buyer's focus on the product you are selling not you.
Don't be the spice house .... the pink house .... the African house ....
Be the house with the great fireplace ..... the house with the large master suite .... the house with the granite counters ....
