Yes Alan, they are postcard worthy photos, I have been to a few of those touristy locales where you must pack enough food and supplies along to last for the entire visit.

Allan thanks for the heads up on the shopping and costs associated with being in a place of that much beauty. And of course for the rich. Expensive taste I do not have. But taking the photos similar to yours, yes I can do that. Thanks for sharing your thought on Aspen and the photos. Have a great day.
So beauty does come with a price? I knew it.

Hello Alan, Aspen, lots of bears in town this time of years looking for last minutes food before they fall asleep.
Hi Alan - Nice photos. Next time you come to Colorado, check in with us locals. It's all beautiful, but we also know where it's affordable too.

Beauteous is an understatement. I bet that the photo doesn't even do the true vista justice.
These are great photos, and could certainly be used as postcards. Aspen looks great, but I don't think I could even afford to stay one night.
Oh my Alan.
To visit Colorado is to love Colorado. One of the most beautiful sights in my memory is the first view of the snow capped Rocky Mountains driving west from Colorado, the Air Force Adademy.
I'm going to find one of my favorite photos of Colorado and post it. Thanks.

We visited Colorado this summer and was just blown away by the beauty. You're right, everywhere you turn is another incredible view!

Sorry I missed you. They were having a College Fair up there that weekend, but my granddaughter couldn't find anyone to cover for her at work, so we couldn't get away.
It really is gorgeous, isn't it? Not just that one week you missed, but no matter what season. Colorado tends to be that way. There are a lot cheaper but equally beautiful places for you to explore the next time you make it this way. Estes Park is fabulous and affordable, and the list is endless. Steamboat Springs is one of the most inviting spots on the planet, Crested Butte . . .
SO glad you got a vacation, and your photos are phabulous.
Morris - yes, but that's not really the take-away.... Aspen is gorgeous!
Bob - nah... no packing in food... you have to sample the local faire, even at the high cost.
Ted - expense is not the only thing to remember about Aspen... it's beauty is legend.
Tammy - it always has.
Will - there were a few bear sightings while I was in town... but I was not one of those who saw them.
Dick - I didn't have that option... Aspen was our target... and I had a wonderful very local guide, as well as numerous full-timers.
Chris - true enough... although it comes pretty darn close.
Troy - you never know.
Lenn - I look forward to seeing it... feel free to post it here!
Tom - everywhere you turn!
Mimi - I'm sorry I missed you, too. I know that there are many places to visit in Colorado... but my companion/guide needed to be in Aspen...

Beautiful photos Alan. I've always heard that Aspen was beautiful, now I know it is. If Alan May says it is then I believe it.
Thanks for posting those gorgeous photos. I want to make it out to Aspen one day.
Alan, I haven't gotten to explore in that area but your photos rock! May have to add it to my list of places to visit.
Alan- I'm glad you let go of your control freak for a few days to enjoy Aspen. Your photos are amazing!!!
Jim - and it is.
Chris - it was my pleasure.
Tom - it was, it truly was.
Liz & Bill - it's a worthy goal.
Kathy - the control freak was in full control... the whole time.
Hi Alan! Living in Colorado provide us with postcard perfect scenery without paying the price of Aspen every day. I've only been there a few times. I can't afford to stay for long!
Gorgeous Alan, just gorgeous. I'm kind of jealous you live in such close proximity to one of natures most beautiful spots.
Suzanne - I don't live anywhere near such a beautiful spot. I'm in a suburb of Chicago... about as flat as you can get.
Alan, you've been spotlighted in today's Tuesday Travelogue. Thank you for taking us away to Aspen!

Aspen, Smaspen. Come to Jackson Hole! I've got a cozy (tiny) charming (run down) cabin (dump) I can let go for a mere $800,000. But the view! the view!
Tim - I know. I had a buddy of mine who stayed at a Jackson Hole lodge (I have no idea which one)... he said he sat in his Adirondack chair each day, staring at the mountains.
Good morning Alan,
Your photos of Aspen are spectacular! I'm coming over from one Gail hi-lighted in her post this morning! I love Colorado and use to go skiing..the fall looks definitely worth the trip!
You have just confirmed for me what I already thought, Aspen is very expensive.
