Where are they now??

By
Real Estate Agent with Prudential Kelstrup Realty

It happens all the time, and especially when the market slows a bit, or times get tough, some agents jump ship. Now, this does'nt go for all agents, but for some, they seem to believe that the grass is greener on the other side. In rare instances, this hold true, but in most cases, once the agent goes over to another company, they find out that its not grass at all, but its brightly colored astro-turf!! When I decided to get into this business, I learned early on that it is not WHERE you work, but its HOW you work. For example, for an agent to leave a well known, estatblished company, which has been in business for over 60 years,  only to go to work for a company that has been in the business 1 year, what can that company do for them to increase their income? My feelings are that when times are tough, I would rather have a well branded name standing behind me to help.

Let me know what you think about this.

I think you are on the right track-- however, I think it is good that some of the fluff is leaving the real estate business.  There were a lot of people in the business that shouldn't have been.

Joan,

That is definately true. Hopefully it will make things easier for the ones who work hard. If an agent makes no cold-calls or makes no attempt at working expireds, etc..., what is changing companies going to do for them.   Thanks Joan.

Hey Ed, Great Blog Posting.  Joan seems to hit the point in the comment before mine.   Real estate is a full time business.

Hi Ed,  Several agents I know went with a new business model office  ( think pyramid ).  Now they have closed the office and told the agents they would have to relocate to a distant office.   All those promises of making big money and residuals.  Now most of them have again relocated to yet another office.
