Facebook Friday

Sometimes I write, what I think, is a brilliant post.  Or I share a stunning and interesting photo on Facebook...only to be disappointed by the tepid reaction.  I feel like I know my friends, family, clients, and readers well enough to predict what they will be enthusiastic about.  But many times I am dead wrong.

Looking back over the traffic on my Facebook pages, I find that FOOD is all engaging.  Everyone eats.  I posted these beauties last night... and everyone seemed to interested in them.  I guess rutabagas rule!

Share what you are making for dinner-- you might be surprised at how many people weigh in!

Kathy - food is a common denominator.  They are a conversation piece. I didn't know what they were but they look interesting.

Well they are certainly interesting to look at. I think I may have had them once or twice but can 't admit to being a big fan. You're right, though, food, raw or cooked, tends to be popular with lots of people on Facebook. I know sharing what I am having for a meal at a restaurant, if it's worthy, is always fun and gets a number of comments.

It's always a crap shoot what people will react to on Facebook. I get completely different reactions from twitter to facebook to AR!

Kathy - Everyone eats several times each day but people buy or sell real estate only a few times in a lifetime.  I've found great kitchen photos are a good way to connect--people are always thinking about food.

Hi Kathy, I have not gotten into the habit of using facebook much, Most of the pictures (selfies) and videos are stupid, but I agree, food is a common denominator.  As for rutabagas, I don't think I have ever had them, so I don't have much of an opinion on them.  Mac and Cheese or spaghetti are a different story.

I may have to take a riveting photo of my spaghetti squash that I had for dinner Kathy.

Rutabagas Rule, that is the first time that I have heard that statement.  Though they do look interesting, especially the vibrant color in your photo, the taste has always been far from the top of my veggie list.

Just never could get into them at all. I like the looks and feel of them but not the taste.  That's just me however

Kathy: No doubt about it, food photos get plenty of leverage with FB readers. Perhaps a contest about "Give these veggies a title" or "Free bag of Rutabagas" might be in order to generate even more traffic. Follow that up with an interesting biz topic (promoted) and perhaps a new prospect may call.
