Overseeding in La Quinta

We are not accustomed to looking out the window and seeing pale brown grass on our golf course, but it happens every year in October.  Overseeding ensures that when our bermuda grass goes dormant, a bright green rye grass will be healthy and perfect for play.

What is OVER SEEDING, and Why do they do that here in the desert?

Kathy, I didn't know they did this in your neck of the woods. Here in AZ it is a very common sight on golf courses and in yards.

Kathy,

It is rather interesting how the course looks prior to the rye grass coming out.  Happy Sunday, A

Hi Kathy,  Here in Northern Indiana, we don't have that problem, so I was not familiar with overseeding on the golf courses.  Thanks for the information.

Kathy - I've learned a lot about La Quinta, and your area from you and over-seeding is one of them!  It is weird to see your green golf courses so brown, but it's good to know it's a short-term thing ad that high season is almost here!
