At Lake Sinclair we get by with a little help from our friends, Facebook Friends that is.
For the past few years I have as part of my social media gotten involved with several community groups. Last Friday in the afternoon I was tagged in a post which of course took me over to look. There was a "runaway" (actually a float away) boat someone spotted on the lake. They snapped a photo and uploaded to the community page.
Well it happened to be that the boat belong to a neighbor of a Lane Realty agent. He checked their boathouse based on the photo and the boat was indeed NOT in the boathouse. Just a few minutes laster (what are the chances) the wife of another of my agents posted a comment that the boat had washed up on the sandy beach area of her house. So I headed over to her house to help her secure the boat while agent #1 was getting in touch with his neighbor.
While we were deciding if we had to wade out into the water to attach a rope to secure the boat agent #1 from this story, Joe Walton came riding up on his white horse... okay it was actually a sea do. The boat was in shallow water and on the bottom so he had to paddle in close to hook a rope to the boat. After a little manovering he got it turned around and un-stuck.
In a little deeper water he got on board and trimmed the motor up to make it a bit easier to pull and headed off to pull the boat back to the boathouse where it belonged. The boat "escaped" because we had a high water level overnight on Thursday. Moral of that story is to lift you boat well above the water line in the boathouse and have a secondarly secure measure of a rope attaching boat to boathouse.
Of course my message in this post is that I have wonderful people working at my office. We jumped into action when we didn't have to, because it was the right thing to do for our neighbors. And everyone on the Lake is our neighbor. We always try to help out when we can. Everyone in my office feels a sense of community and being neighborly.
I certainly can't promise that will rescue your float away boat. We might not know about it But oddly enough this is the second time that this very thing has happened with agents in my office being involved in the spotting and rescuing of a runaway boat. And I can promise that if you call our office when you need someone to help you accomplish something, even if we aren't the ones that can help you, we generally can point you in the direction of someone who can. Oh and check out the short video clip below. Not only does it show the beauty of our lake, but the peaceful sounds of our lake too.
And as always if you are looking for property on Lake Sinclair, get in touch with Lane Realty and we'll be happy to help you out LAKE-SINCLAIR.COM or give us a call at 706-485-9668
