Why Pink??

This October, Caskey & Caskey are proud to announce our Pinking Up The Town program in support of breast cancer awareness and support.

Like many others, our Manhattan Beach, California based real estate team has regular team meetings. At one of our most recent meetings one of our team members, who had recently lost a close friend to breast cancer, brought up the point that the real estate industry could have a huge impact on breast cancer awareness and support. Real estate is one of the most visually impactful businesses out there, with ample signage, print and internet advertising, video, blogs, flyers, brochures, open house signs, etc. After brainstorming together, we realized we could really put a lot of attention on breast cancer awareness by creating a unified theme across our marketing platform and putting that vehicle into motion to raise awareness, support and most importantly, funds for invaluable programs here locally that have a direct impact on breast cancer patients, suriviors, victims and families of victims.

After further discussion, we realized that each and every one of us on our team has a story of a close friend or loved one that has been affected by breast cancer. We shared stories of friends, family members, colleagues, people in our community and neighbors and came to the realization that this issue is all to close to home. We agreed that if there was a way for us to make a difference right here locally in our own backyard, we would want to work towards that goal together, so we decided to Pink Up the Town in October.

In order to spread awareness and to implement a drive for support for breast cancer victims and survivors right here in our South Bay community, we are Pinking Up the Town by turning our business pink. Every real estate sign, every ad, every flyer--everything we can think of is pink for the month of October. Our hope is that women here in Manhattan Beach, Hermosa Beach, Redondo Beach and the surrounding South Bay cities who see our signs or ads will be reminded to perform regular breast exams and to book those all important mammogram appointments. Our hope is that through these subtle reminders, lives are saved. Caskey and Caskey goes pink for breast cancer awareness month

To further make an impact, we have committed to pledging a portion of all the business we do in the month of October to directly benefit our local Cancer Support Community center right here in the South Bay.They provide free support groups to cancer patients, cancer survivors and those transitioning from the loss of a loved one. Located at 109 W. Torrance Blvd in Redondo Beach, the program offers many different support programs for people of all ages and in all stages. Because their services are free of charge to the public, continued aid and financial support is vital to the center's ongoing committment to serve this important issue.

We are pleased to announce that as of this blog posting, two of our major affliates have also pledged to match our contribution at month's end.

Our hope is that by next year, this concept catches on and other agents, teams and/or brokers are inspired to pledge to a similiar drive in their own communities. Putting the strength of the real estate industry behind a cause that directly affects us all in one form or another is just one way we as agents can show our neighbors that we are commited to building and maintaining communities. How lucky are we to have such a great vehicle to raise awareness right in our daily business?Pink real estate sign supports breast cancer awareness
