Can you tell me if Gilmer County has any restrictions on tiny houses if put on acerage you purchase ?

Hi Tim

Gilmer County does not have many restrictions - namely I believe the minimum square footage - about 150 or 200. If you are in a subdivision they might have their own restrictions, but if you own your property outside of a subdivision you should not have any issues. The only glitch you might run into is the septic - they do have a minimum requirement mainly to do with the size of your property. In Fannin county is about an acre and a quarter. You might want to check with the health department in Gilmer.
