Decorating Tips-Make a Condo Feel Like Home
This was decorating on a dime. Well a few dimes, that is. Recently I had the pleasure of helping decorate a past clients daughters condo. She was pregnant and very close to her due date and she hadn't gotten the chance to really settle in. It was important to her, especially once after the baby was born, for her to feel like it was her home.
We worked on a small budget, but that was okay because it doesn't take much to make a condo feel like home. Just a few accessories were needed to bring in some color and add some life to the space. I was even able to re-purpose some of the accessories she already had.
All it took was some throw pillows & blanket, accessories above the couch and a floating shelf above the TV. The mirrored squares above the couch were directly opposite the sliding glass doors, letting in some more natural light. And now she finally has a shelf to put all those soon to be baby pictures on.
The kitchen just needed some organization. Storing the items that she didn't use every day cleared up some counter space. I also added knobs to the cabinets because they were soft close drawers and very hard to open without them. And when you have a baby, you want your cabinets to open effortlessly!
When you live in a place where painting isn't allowed, bring in the color through your accessories. But remember, when you're dealing with small spaces, like most condos or apartments are, it's important to not have too much clutter. Use these decorating tips and it won't take much to make a condo feel like home.
