If you’ve been in Colorado Springs for any length of time, the name Venetucci is synonymous with autumn, harvest, pumpkins, and community service. This year on Monday, October 20^th, they will host a Starlight Dinner at Venetucci Farm, where you can enjoy edible and musical delights as the cloak of evening descends around you, and stars provide a magical display to accompany your dinner.

Freshly-harvested ingredients from the Farm will be part of a tantalizing six-course meal artfully prepared by local culinary experts from Bon Appetit. Each sumptuous course will be paired with beer from local brewery, Bristol Brewing Company (including Venetucci Pumpkin Ale), and Colorado vineyard wines from Coaltrain Wine and Spirits.

Most importantly, the proceeds will go to an intensely worthy local non-profit organization, Colorado Springs Food Rescue. It is estimated that in the United States alone, approximately $165 Billion of food is wasted each year, with an additional One Billion Dollars being spent to dispose of said surplus. Colorado Springs Food Rescue is dedicated to providing some of this healthy, excess food to those in need, including homeless shelters, low-income elderly housing, working poor families, and school food programs, to name but a few.

Colorado Springs Food Rescue works with local businesses to identify food that would otherwise be thrown away and provides fresh, healthy meals to those in need. Because the food is distributed daily, it doesn’t require sorting or storage and can be used immediately.
