Cathy: There is no question that we wear multiple 'Hats' in this business. It has to be unsettling for an out-of-state homeowner, but they were in good hands with you and your husband's assistance.

Yep, that is what we do that most of the time goes unoticed. Great that you are this kind of agent for your clients. I hope they notice! :)

This story reminds me of the time I had to accompany another agent to an alarm that was going off in one of her vacant listings. It was a false alarm, but the owners weren't there and they had gotten a call and were concerned.

Definitely an Above and Beyond! I think people often think REALTORS really don't earn the commissions, they don't know about the money that goes into running the business and marketing their homes, but it is things like this that you and your husband did that really shouts out that we care about our clients and it is not just all about money~![]()

That's a really cool story, Cathy. You and your husband definitely went above and beyond. Well done and thanks for entering the contest!

Hi Gary, thanks for checking in with me. I have been really busy, I really missed seeing you guys at the last two meet ups, and hope to make it to the next one. I am not sure if you know or not, but in January I took the Appraiser Trainee class, and have been working as a Certified Trainee Appraiser as well as still managing a small number of properties. In February, my husband had a kidney transplant, and I actually was the kidney donor. So things have been pretty crazy. My husband is doing really well, and actually went back to work last week.
I hope all is well with you.
Great post! I agree that going above and beyond is expected within the real estate career.
