Welcome to the September 2014 Market Update for Scottsdale, Arizona.
Here is a look at real estate activity in Scottsdale for the month of September. While home sales activity in September was quieter, this is to be expected as it is the low season.
INVENTORY OF HOMES FOR SALE AND MEDIAN LIST PRICE FOR SCOTTSDALE - SEPTEMBER 2014
The number of active listings was 1,932. This is up 8% from one year earlier and down 1% from the previous month.
On the contrary, in the luxury price points, we saw inventory go up quite a bit from August.
The median asking price for homes was just under $700,000. This is up from just under $680,000 last year.
MEDIAN SALES PRICE AND DAYS ON MARKET - SEPTEMBER 2014
The median sale price in September was a little under $430,000. This is lower than the previous month as well as lower than a year ago.
The number of units sold in September was up slighlty over the prior year, but down a little from August 2014.
There was a large jump in the average number of days on market between 2013 and 2014.
