It dawned on me the other day in asking myself, Are you suffering from communication OVERLOAD? It is something we all should ask?
Too much email, text, phone calls, web pages, news on TV, etc. Even adding more connections with additional social media platforms requires staying up with them. Balance your life by putting the smartphone or tablet in the drawer now and then. Life will still be there when you get back to them.
Take a walk in nature. RELAX.
Yes! I wish sometimes I could turn off my phone, but I never do...Love the photos!!
First, the lake photo is stunning. Second, everyone turn off 1/2 the sounds on your phone and take away a lot of the "ping" stress in your life.
I've not had tv for a while so I am a little naive with regard to current affairs but I'm all the better and more smiley because of it!
If I could "unplug" for a while I definitely would, but business is something I have to stay tuned for. However I do go for walks on the beach, and have started yoga so I find some natural relaxation time every now and then. Nice lake picture!

Gary, we took a day off yesterday and drove into the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Incredible views and "hardly" any internet. Awesome.
Nothing quite like a long walk in the fall to clear the mind and re-energize.
By the end of every day I absolutely need to shut my brain off. I have a sketch pad and art supplies in my end table next to my couch and while my husband and kids watch tv I'll doodle and draw. It really helps me to wind down.
I think someone needs to take his OWN advice. There is life outside your computer. I think it makes it that much more fun when you can share the outside world with your friends when you do connect. It makes life so much more fun and balanced

Sometimes, my ex-boyfriend would scream at the phone to "Shut up!" as it was ringing. I think he may have been on overload. As for me, I will take the cabin on the serene pond.
Gary~ I am suffering from overload. I just took off for 3 days, but I was not disconnected. What I need to do is just disconnect for a few hours. I'm sure I'll feel much better.
I don't have any problem putting the smart phone away. Now, if I could only drag myself away from the computer.
Gary, sometimes I just put all the gadgets aside and take a walk. It recharges the batteries. Enjoy your day!

Hi Gary, well that is such a beautiful photo! Yes, more time in nature- and quiet. I think we all need it, but it is quite scary for some :-)
Gary, I couldn't agree with you more. In a recent post, I wrote about how smart phones and tablets are hurting social interaction - sort of along the same lines as your post. We all need to take time out to relax.
AMEN to this! I am beyond burnt on the info overload and have to believe I am not the only one
I try and work on letting my drive time be my decompress time. I'm not always successful but I'm better than I once was.
