Speechless Sunday: An Exciting Visitor - the Praying Mantis

Finally I feel more at peace. This past month has been very difficult and stressful mentally.

Praying Mantis

Friday afternoon, as we were leaving home to attend a “dreaded” meeting my husband and I spotted a highly unusual visitor in our neighborhood, right on our front porch - - this praying mantis. We both felt so blessed and lucky just seeing one, and quite a bit of time to observe her.  We were speechless.

“The sighting of a praying mantis symbolizes meditation and contemplation.  She gives a sign to be still, go within, meditate, get quite and reach a place of calm. It may also a sign for you to be more mindful of the choices you are making and confirm that these choices are fitting.”

The symbolism of this praying mantis gave me hope as I feel God has sent us this as a sign that everything is going to be okay.

Now, we both feel more at peace.

Bette - I have not seen a praying mantis in a long time.  They are quiet and peaceful.  That is a good message for us to remember.

Hi Bette,  The Prayuing Mantis, fits your title as it has a message without even having words to explain. Peace, quiet and meditation.

Bette, aren't these the creatures where the female bites the head off of her mate after mating?  Looks so sweet and peaceful!

Thanks for your comments everyone.  This particular paying mantis was huge, and although they seem to bring a sense of peacefulness, kill their partners after mating.

I did some research about them. They are predators that feast on live insects, including moths, mosquitoes, roaches, flies and aphids, as well as small rodents, frogs, snakes and birds! Not as innocent as they look like.
