There are some listings I pick up and run with, which were once listed by another agent, where I just know the former agent was glad to get rid of the listing. It's often written all over it, and I can also sometimes hear it in the caller's voice when the seller first contacts me. It's like a sixth sense of sorts.
I recognize these situations as those in which the agent let the seller walk all over them and did not put down her foot. When that happens, chaos is a result. And, sadly, then the agent loses the listing, spits good riddance and goes on to do the same thing to the next unruly seller who has her own odd ideas of how things should be done.
It's like a never-ending cycle. Then the agent wonders why all of her clients are so difficult. Sellers are difficult because the Sacramento real estate agent allowed it. The agent wasn't straight forward and honest with sellers. You can read more in my personal blog today about Telling Sacramento Sellers What They Don't Want to Hear.
