So many things come to mind, but one thing in particular truly shows how diverse and rich in history our neighborhoods are.  The Aussie Team recently had the opportunity to attend an architectural tour of Tulsa with Cityscape Home Mortgage.  As a real estate agent, I felt like there wasn't a lot someone could tell me about my city--I was wrong!  If you haven’t taken a tour of your own city, then please do.  We often wait until we travel to learn about the history of a certain region.  Our recent tour taught me that there is always something to learn, especially about your own hometown!

Here's a list of all the things I learned on our tour:

Architecture – Tulsa has so many different types of architecture represented!  Art deco, mid century modern, traditional, contemporary, Victorian, craftsman, ranch style, Greek revival, the list goes on and on.  Tulsans like diversity and our architecture is very much a representation of that.

Neighborhoods – Eclectic, bustling, sleepy, trendy and some that need improvement... each is surprisingly different from the next.  Some of our neighborhoods have mature trees and sidewalks were others might have contemporary landscaping and bike paths. You just never know what you will find.

Neighborhood Names – Each historic neighborhood in Tulsa has a story behind the name or nickname.  For instance, The Maple Ridge neighborhood has a portion that we refer to as “Black Gold Row;” these are mansions that sprang up during the oil boom and are still here for us to enjoy.  Some of my favorite neighborhoods include Brady Heights, Cherry Street, Brookside, Patrick Henry, Terwilleger Heights, and the Riverview Historic District.

Beauty – Tulsa is a beautiful city that I am very proud to call home.  I love to travel and explore, but there is something so comforting about living, working, and playing in a city with such history and beauty! And my love of this city and all it has to offer makes my job of selling homes and helping families very rewarding.  I couldn’t ask for anything better.

The Aussie Real Estate Team has experience helping families buy and sell homes in all of these wonderful Tulsa neighborhoods and the surrounding areas.  If you are in search of a little slice of history with your new home, then contact us!  We know you will love all that Tulsa has to offer as much as we do!
