September was the 31st consecutive month that home prices rose nationally month over month. According to the National Association of Realtors, existing home sales also made more gains last month. I think those national sales figure positive trends are being fueled by metropolitan areas that are coming back very strong after a very strong decline.
Our area is trudging along at this point in the recovery. Late 2012 into 2013 was brisk but things have leveled off right now. It is currently a buyers market and home prices are not on the rise in Sedona. I deal with a lot of mature cash buyers who are looing for second homes or a possible retirement relocation. I think the election, and world turmoil is holding some folks back right now. After the election, I think things will pick up. Like your area, winter does not hold us back.
