I come across lots of real estate business cards in my daily work and would like to provide a few tips to Realtors regarding their business cards, either new ones or refreshing their previous design. This is a big step and many take it for granted but is actually a large part of expressing who you are and what you do for your clients.
Look like a Realtor:
First and foremost make sure your business card says real estate at first glance without any doubt. Don't make potential clients look at your business cards and have to guess what it is you do for a living or how you can help them reach their goals to buy or sell their properties.
Make it easy for customers to save your business cards:
Make sure you stick with standard size business cards. Those eight sided designs look really interesting :-) but you need to remember someone has to store this business card in a convenient place that is actually convenient for them. Don't make it hard to save your information for future use.
Never leave a blank business card back:
Never leave the second side of your business card blank. This is your advertising space, you paid for it now make good use of it but never clutter it up and always leave room for note taking for your clients and don't even think about a dark background on the back that will not allow notes to be easily written.
Never use glossy business card coatings:
Another tip goes out to those who feel they need to have a shiny glossy coating on their business cards... bad idea. Ever try writing a note on the back of a business card and notice it will not take your hand written note because the back is some glossy finish? Now think of your clients point of view here when you leave the meeting you just had with them and they attempt to write a note about you or your service on the back of your business cards.
