Fall Has Arrived In Middletown Connecticut, and is now in the process of transitioning into Winter. I posted my "First Progression of Fall Blog Of 2014 on September 26th", and the first picture above of the trees just before they began to change color. I took the second picture a couple of weeks later, and posted it in my "Second Blog Of The 2014 Progression Of Fall Colors In Middletown, CT". The trees had began to change, but there wasn't much of a change yet. By the Third Blog Of The 2014 Progression Of Fall Colors In Middletown, CT, the change in colors had started to be much more noticeable. In the Fourth Blog Of The 2014 Progression Of Fall Colors In Middletown, CT, the color change was even more noticeable. But last week in the Fifth Blog Of The 2014 Progression Of Fall Colors In Middletown, CT, the trees had started to lose their leaves, and we began to see less color than the week before. This week in the Sixth Blog Of The 2014 Progression Of Fall Colors In Middletown, CT, even thought the trees have continued to lose their leaves it almost appears as if there is more color than last week.
Last week I feared all the rain and wind we got during the week, I might have missed the peak of the colors. This week has given a little hope I might still see additional color in this spot, even though there are now several trees without leaves on them.
I started doing this series of the progression of Fall colors Two years ago, and hope to continue this series for years to come. The first two years the pictures were of a farm which is only about a minute walk from my house. This year I decided to change the location for my 2014 Progression Of Fall Colors In Middletown, CT. to a lake about 5 minutes from my house. I have continue to post pictures of this same spot throughout the Fall to show the progression of the Fall colors this year.
Fall is a beautiful time of the year in New England, but the last couple of years have only been average years for Fall colors. I have become spoiled by the beautiful colors we normally see during the Fall, and even though the last couple of years the colors were OK, this year the colors have been outstanding. The spot this fifth picture was taken has not been changing as much from week to week as some other areas in town, but still gives a good representation of the colors we are so use to seeing, and many times take for granted.
Anyone planning to come to New England to enjoy our Fall colors should plan on coming this weekend if they hope to still see some of the beautiful colors. The trees have been turning color much fast this year, so by next weekend most of the trees will have lost their leaves. My favorite colors are the trees with yellow, orange, and rust color leafs when they blend together.
Fall is now on its way out of Middletown Connecticut as you can see in this Sixth Blog Of The 2014 Progression Of Fall Colors In Middletown, CT., and Winter will soon set in. I hope those following my series of the progression of Fall colors, will enjoy the experience of seeing the change in colors of our trees here in Middletown, CT along with me.
