The sun shines today in Flower Mound. It's a cool 56 degrees this morning; however temperatures will rise to the mid 70's later today, making it a great day for kids in costumes to trick or treat.
My yard needs mowing - it's not growing as fast anymore but the Town did spray for mosquitoes last week and that is consoling. I watched butterflies and bees inside my flower garden yesterday afternoon while the sun was shining and I was wearing shorts in my own back yard.
Gas prices remain low in North Dallas. With a big smile on my face I filled up the tank yesterday and paid only $2.66 a gallon. That was a big sigh of relief! The expression of art is in the trees and I love to watch the gentle breezes shake off a few leaves every now and then. I'm seeing brilliant autumn colors of various shades of soft greens and gold against a bright blue sky outside my window.
Autumn teaches us about life changes and I've covered the ground with mulch to hasten the onset of spring growth after the winter grounds because as we know, weather is always unpredictable. I will be sorry to see the flowers go but why are weeds the last to go? They remind me of the first in; first out inventory method. But nothing is dormant yet; I shall appreciate the color of hues, the warm weather, the flowers in my garden, the leaves of color holding on to make the season last.
Tonight I will greet all the children in their bright and colorful costumes and beautiful faces. Halloween is a special time of the year in Flower Mound.
