Say Hello to Officer Nemo!

Nemo is a Belgium Malinois Shepard dog. This breed of dog is used to tract humans and used for detection of odors like explosives, accelerants and narcotics.

He is one of two K-9 police officers for the City of Alvin. He has a busy and sometimes dangerous job.

Nemo is a dual purpose narcotic/ patrol K-9. Most police k-9's are on the job for ten years and then are released into retirement to live with their handlers.

It takes a long time to train these types of service dogs; and they are very expensive to obtain. Luckily for the city he was donated by K-9 Officers, Inc.

Nemo is certified by the International Police Working Dog Association.

Shown in the picture is his handler Officer Green. A tough and rugged man. I wonder if he would let me fire his rifle....

If you are a bad person you would do good to move to another city

Sussie, Nemo is a good looking dog. I am sure he and his handler, Officer Green have a very close relationship and are both committed to doing their jobs!

I'm so happy you are showcasing officer Nemo.  They are wonderful.  My daughter once had a roommate that was the K-9 handler and I loved that puppy.

Hello Sussie,  K-9's are so helpful with the police force.  More cities should have them.

Kathleen Daniels... I love dogs and all I want to do when I see his picture is hug him.

Noem Padula and Bob Ratliff.... Yes service dogs are so amazing! I want one but I can't afford one.

Tammy Langford... How lucky for your daughter and those dogs are so smart!

Will Hamm.... I am sure cities wish they could have them too. But like I said they are really expensive.
