IMPORTANT FALL REMINDERS!
If you are like me, you most likely got up this morning before the sun!! November is here and last night we set our clocks back one hour. While my computer knew what time it was, my wall clocks did not. So many ways to be reminded of the time change, it is not that hard to remember and be on time. It is also a great time to consider the following:
- SMOKE DETECTORS: Check and replace batteries on your smoke detectors. Twice a year is a smart way to stay safe. Checking the batteries is really such a simple task, yet many people don't make the effort. Always better to be safe than sorry.
- DEER MATING SEASON - Drivers Beware!! The second thing to consider when daylight saving time arrives is to stay safe when driving. I recently learned that it is deer mating season. Who knew? It is a time of year that they are out busy and not just looking for food. Quite active they can be found out and about more often at this time of year causing a dramatic increase in car accidents. I also learned that the time of day that the deer are out is between 5 and 9pm, when twilight turns to darkness. More often than not the deer travel in groups so if you see one, there is bound to be another. Caution when out at these hours is so important.
Although I would prefer to keep my hour the way it was, it is a good time to remember these two important facts. Both of them are life saving and the info should be shared.
So it is Great to have the extra sleep daylight savings brings along, but not so great if you like to have daylight in the afternoons. I am now officially counting down the days until Spring 2015. It is 138 days away and counting!!
