Hi there Future Homeowners!
Are you new to the home buying process? If so, I am sure your main question is..."Where do I start?" Well, you have come to the right place! As a home owner myself and a Real Estate agent, I know how frustrating the process can be. Here are 3 things to help get you started:
1. FIND A REALTOR! Chances are you know someone who has purchased a home. Ask them if they have a Realtor they would recommend. If not, researching local offices online can help point you in the right direction. Contact the Realtor of your choice!
2. GET PRE-APPROVED!! If you are not yet pre-approved for a loan, your Realtor can recommend a few local lenders to help get you started! Being pre-approved before looking for a home is important in case you find "The One" and want to make an offer. Having your pre-approval makes the offer look stronger and most of the time a pre-approval is required to accompany all offers. We do not want you to miss out on your dream home!
3. DO NOT BUY ANYTHING!!! (Until your house has closed!) Once you have your pre-approval and are in contract on a home do not make any purchases on credit until you have closed on your home. Making any purchase whether it is furniture, appliances, a car, etc... WILL affect your credit and could cause you to no longer be approved for the loan on that beautiful home you had your heart set on.
